Tim Ferriss is an American entrepreneur and author whose main focus is lifestyle optimization. Some of his best-known work is the ‘4-Hour Work Week’ and the ‘4-Hour Body’.

The following guide is his morning routine as published on Ferriss’ blog and Business Insider.

  • This is about a 40-Minute routine.

1. Make your bed.

(1 minute)

“If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.” — Admiral McRaven (Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World)

Benefits: Accomplish the first task of the day and keep your space more organized.

How I implement this: I share a bed with my partner who doesn’t wake up as early as I do. So my version of making the bed is straightening both the top sheet and the comforter on my side, as soon as I get out of it. This doesn’t allow me any time to procrastinate or forget the task.
