Rustic Cabin Bread (with Cranberries & Pecans)

A weekend project to slow down and be more present.

Baking bread is cozy and ‘hygge’ as they say in Scandinavia. It really is a simple way to achieve a slow mindful presence and out of it, you get something delicious.

The idea here is to dedicate some time to slowing down, so dedicate a day off to bake this bread. Put on some relaxing music (I like lofi) and take your time with each step.

Use this recipe on a day off or a day at home when you can revisit your dough frequently while doing other tasks etc.

Tools you’ll need:

  • Scale
  • 32oz Deli container (or similar tupperware)
  • Small rubber spatula (or another stirring instrument)
  • Medium bowl
  • Spoon
  • Timer
  • Plastic wrap
  • 9-inch proofing basket (or floured tea towel within a bowl)
  • Parchment paper
  • Large dutch oven
  • Scissors
  • Cooling wrack
