Insomnia can also lead to irritability, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and poor work performance, which are not conducive to a successful career and personal life.
Adults who consistently get less than 7 hours of sleep per night are at a higher risk of developing heart disease, depression, diabetes, asthma, and other illnesses. While prescription sleep aids like benzodiazepines may seem like a quick fix, they are habit-forming and can lead to substance abuse.
