For our Aeropress brew method this week we are going to be learning from Filip Kucharczyk. I’ve been trying out his 2016 Aeropress World Champion recipe and I love it.

As always, here is where I first found this brew method. Check out the video made by European Coffee Tour of Kucharczyk brewing the recipe himself before coming back here and using this guide of how I enjoyed it as a reference.

This brew yields 250g of coffee, enough for 1 person. It takes less than 2 minutes, so making an extra cup for a friend won’t take too long.

Let’s get started.

What you’ll need:

  • The Aeropress
  • Aeropress filter
  • Chopsticks or something similar (for stirring)
  • Scale
  • Timer
  • 35g Coffee: Ground coarse (setting 21 on a Baratza Encore grinder)
  • Kettle: to heat water (183°F/ 84°C)
  • Water
  • Mug

  1. Insert a filter into the Aeropress basket and rinse with hot water.
