- Sit on your stoop with your morning brew.
This is the simplest and fastest way to incorporate the outside into your morning. It simply involves opening the front door of your house or apartment, sitting with your cup of coffee and taking in the morning. Take 10 minutes to sit and begin your morning slowly. To take this idea one step further, I would recommend waking before most and while the neighborhood is still quiet.
2. Take a walk to your local green space.
Spend 30 minutes walking through your neighborhood to a local park or other green space. Bring your coffee in a travel mug and have a sit with your coffee after your walk. I usually find Googling ‘parks near me’ usually presents me with several options in my area for places to go. It is well documented in Florence William’s The Nature Fix, that both walking and getting into green spaces calms you, positively effects your mood and relieves some of the stresses caused by the ‘daily grind’.
